A little quirky, a little serious. Lover of coupe glasses, designer pumps, beach sand and humidity. She lives for early nights on the town drinking bougie cocktails and good restaurants as well as staying home enjoying Netflix & pizza, Katie doesn't fall into one category. Juxtaposition makes life interesting, this starts at home. “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” ~Mae West
Finding her passion + natural talent at a young age, Katie toured a handful of interior design schools in highschool before changing course and heading to the University of MN, Duluth for Graphic Design. She then completed her degree and became licensed in Dental Assisting...why you may ask?
With a stable career to support herself, she was able to purchase investment-properties and. design her own spaces. Renovating & perfectly curating each home before selling it for a profit. A profitable side hustle to her full time job working for 2 fabulous female dentists who had recently opened a new practice. She spent 8 years working for them in pediatric dentistry (watching them kill it as female business owners) before she eventually chose to pursue her dream in interior design in 2009 when she graduated from the the NKBA certified Kitchen & Bath Design program at Century College. A program specifically designed for residential kitchen + bath design. Focusing on drafting, product specifications & cabinet design she honed her craft in design & renovation. Her passion for design and investments led to Katie becoming a realtor. Licensed with the luxury brand Engel & Völkers. She has won numerous awards and sold millions in real estate for clients and personal investments. She has a niche expertise in helping people find a house in the perfect neighborhood and then renovating it from top to bottom to become their dream home. Katie is extremely knowledgable and experienced in the housing industry as a whole.
In the years following Katie has had the pleasure of being named a top interior designer in WBL Magazine year after year, Staging Instructor for the Preservation Alliance of Mn, competing in a globally aired home renovation reality show “Rowhouse Showdown”, serving as the V.P of Communications on the NKBA Minnesota board , Architectural Supervisory Committee member in North Oaks and multiple features in local and national publications such as Midwest Home and Kitchen & Bath Business Magazine. Most recently she was the recipient of the Innovative Showroom Award at KBIS 2023 for the recently opened brick + mortar Adorned Homes Studio.
Mom to 2 designers in training + a fur baby. She resides in Minnesota with her husband, 2 daughters and English Bulldog, Turtle. Recently expanding to Naples, Fl for work and play.
Katie strives to amplify the lifestyle her clients live. “A lifestyle that promotes ease of daily living and encourages the enjoyment of the beauty in their surroundings. How to help my clients live their best life is the first thought in the home we find and create. Best said by Coco Chanel, luxury has to be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury, my goal is to provide a home that bestows function as well as beauty. Listing, selling or designing a clients home with creativity and competence is of utmost importance in order to help them live their best life, because you only live once!”
