Staging a home can seem like a daunting task but after looking at the stats on how much this helps when selling a home, it is a task worth taking on!

Staged homes generally sell faster and for a higher price which is an important reason why you should put some money into decor and furniture items to stage your home. Most people do not realize that not staging your home can actually cost you money in the respect that your home will sell for less than if you had staged it.

Staging does not have to be expensive. Its about the creativity not the money. A simple re-arranging of furniture can make a room look twice as nice!

 

The photos below show an un-staged master bedroom versus a staged master bedroom. Very little money was spent on the staging. A new bedding set, curtains, vase w/ flowers, artwork for the wall, decor books from the dollar bin at Good Will to elevate the lamp and accessorize the night stand, and a $20 bench also from Good Will = totaling only $130 dollars. Can you see how this room would be much more appealing to a buyer? 

Quick tips:

*Depersonalize the space, replace personal photos with generic ones

*Declutter: clear closets, pack up large collections (you may love your chotchkie collection but it will look like clutter to buyers)

*Accent highlight features in a home; a focal point fireplace, view of a lake

*Arrange furniture to create maximum usage of space and make the room seem larger

 

Staging a house triggers a buyers emotional response to a home and since buying a home is largely an emotional decision, why not stage your home?!
