North Oaks Golf Course is a championship golf course designed by architect Stanley Thompson in 1950. It’s been the location of many MGA Championships and the MN section PGA Championships in 1954 and 2000. Members or guests of members are treated to one of the finest courses in North America. Offering championship tees, the par 71 course features over 6,655 yards, challenging golfers of all ability.
In 2007, the course was redesigned by Tom Lehman, and now offers tennis courts and sledding hills in the winter.
The Hill Farm Historical Society preserves James J. Hill’s legacy of farming innovation on over five acres of farmland in North Oaks. The original farm buildings, including the blacksmith shop, machine shop and dairy building, are viewable to the public. Tours are available and informational displays are posted to educate visitors about these buildings which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Both of these churches in North Oaks offer open services on Sundays. Incarnation Lutheran Church is an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation, formed by the consolidation of two area Lutheran churches in 1962. Emmanuel Covenant Church provides a Christian experience and offers a big church quality with a small church feel.
Sitzer Park, located on Hodgson Road, offers fun for the whole family. The 8-acre park offers recreational amenities such as basketball courts, a hockey rink, walking paths, playgrounds, baseball fields, tennis courts, and a picnic shelter and grill.
Pleasant Lake is appropriately named; it’s a beautiful lake to paddleboard, sail, canoe or kayak on. If you’re looking for a way to cool down in the summer, head over to the largest lake in town!
