Holiday entertaining is in full swing! And a really good holiday table setting makes me so HAPPY! One of the biggest annual events that happens in our neighborhood is the North Oaks Holiday Home Tour. Put on by The Guild, all proceeds go to the Children’s hospital and the tour is always a must do during the holidays.
This year, since our house is finally coming to completion, I hosted a brunch before the tour and my friend Danielle (Minne Pristine Co) and I put together a pine and jewel tone table for our friends. The next week the tablescape was re-done, an extra table was added to accommodate 23 people and a massive Thanksgiving dinner table was decorated!
Options and styles are endless but here are my top 5 necessities for a no-brainer holiday tablescape!
1.Fresh Pine: The Mpls Farmers Market has a huge selection of pine in their outdoor market or in the floral building. You can even make your own outdoor holiday planters! Spread it down the center of the table and scatter some taper candles throughout! MPLS Farmers Market $20+
2. Place settings: Choose your color scheme and stick to it! My favorite is the green, black and wood scheme happening now and these black terra cotta plates are a perfect accent to the table! CB2 Madera Black $10.95
3. Table runner: A modern white table runner will add some crisp, light color to your table. The classic eyelets in this one add the feel of a traditional holiday table with a modern vibe of the square edges. Crate & Barrel Jemme $17.97 90″ or $19.97 120″
4. Tall candlesticks: Black iron is all the rage and I love these ones from Joann. Always on sale it seems so you can’t go wrong even if you only use them once! Pair with a black taper candle and you got it! Small Metal Taper $7.49
5. Crystal Glassware: A simple crystal glass is always a great accent to bring some sparkle to a table. Loving these low ball Old Fashioned glasses with the cut detail to make them shine! Crate & Barrel Old Fashioned Glass $11.95
