Hey guys, I’m back! It’s been a while since I have written anything on the blog…the new babe, the Adorned Homes design studio and business in general has been excitingly crazy and taking up alot of time! Despite everything, we managed to shoot 3 design projects that came to completion while I was on maternity leave; the Deep Lake Mudroom, the Majestic Ct Project and the Dellwood Lake Home. I’ve been dying to share these with you so lets go!

First up; The Deep Lake Mudroom Project

This interior design project, while only a small room in the families North Oaks, Minnesota home, made a huge difference in the functionality of their space. Mudrooms are necessity in Minnesota. Coming in from a snowy winter storm to an area where you can drop your boots and leave the mess in a designated area is a game changer for the Minnesota lifestyle. We value beauty, quality and luxury in a way that feels easy. Approachable. Summer days spent on the lake blend into winter days spent playing in the snow and our homes reflect that lifestyle. The mudroom being the first place that takes the brunt of that lifestyle. In recent years, the mudroom has become more than a place that houses dirty boots and wet swimsuits to becoming a beautiful reflection of our families way of life. Built-in cubbies, hidden storage, pretty containers for gear all make up the new norm for a luxurious but approachable Minnesota mudroom.

The foot print of the room was kept the same, but when all custom cabinetry and countertops were specified for the room it created a designated place for everything the family needed on a day to day basis. This not only added storage but it made it seem like square footage was added. No more shoes, jackets and laundry thrown on the floor and taking up valuable floor area! A steely green paint was custom selected for the finish on the cabinets. The existing warm stain color found throughout the home was matched for the unique waterfall countertop system wrapping the washer and dryer which was usefull for folding laundry but also created a pretty focal point in the space. Beauty + Function. Surya rugs that were made for high traffic areas adorn and protect the floors while adding a pop of pattern. It’s all so good, hope you guys love it!

In the next few weeks and months we’ll be sharing all the details about the Majestic Ct project in Shoreview, Minnesota which received what I Like to call a “heavy refresh”. Full interior design service performed including new wood floors, lighting, appliances, furnishings, decor…stay tuned. This one was fun to see transform! Then the Dellwood, Minnesota Lake Home. This project started off as a full home furnishings project that ultimately created the ultimate lake life home when lighting upgrades, paint color, wallpaper and all the details were added in to make the whole home flow perfectly for their busy family.
